HOUSE MANAGEMENT Setting up the "house" - the audience area of the theatre
requires coordinated effort. The House Manager works with the Director in setting up chairs, sectioning off walkways, setting up the refreshments in the kitchen - making signs, putting soda in the refrigerators, setting out chips, overseeing and assembling the photo boards, outside signs, archive boards, ticket table, cashing up, record keeping of attendance, and greeting members of the audience as they arrive.

The reverse of these tasks follow each
nights performance as the areas used are cleaned
and returned to their original state — many times better! Students
volunteer for these
additional duties and form committees which deal with the logistics of
the jobs. |
