MAKE-UP TECHNIQUES

Students are introduced to different forms of make-up. Whether the make-up is straight make-up or age/character, the proper use of base, liner, rouge, application of beards, mustaches, crepe hair, etc.

In addition to application of make-up, students are taught the reason for the make-up, and how the make-up will serve to aid them in the development of their character, and counter the effects of extreme lighting on the actor.

Students apply their own make up for the shows and are assisted by older students and alumni who volunteer their time and effort to help out.

They also are taught proper ways to pick up after a show, properly store make-up, and ready the make-up area for the next performance.

Make-up removal techniques are taught as are several different ways to gain a particular effect if a student happens to be allergic to make-up.
